Anniversary Inn South Temple

My husband and I love The Anniversary Inn! We have gone for the last 6 years for our anniversary and it’s always fun to get a new themed room. However, we’ve noticed over the past years that the “quality” has gone down just a bit. When we first went 6 years ago they always had 2 slices of cheesecake in the room, they no longer do that. (Which I can understand, maybe it got expensive?) but we always order the spinach and artichoke dip, it usually comes nice and warm with an array of crackers and some tortilla chips, but this time when we called and ordered this is what we got. It was also very cold while the bowl it was in was super hot (so it had been microwaved obviously). This time it just wasn’t worth the $8 for the dip AT ALL. (This should be a $2 dip haha) I think if the quality of the Inn just keeps going down like this we probably will no longer go here on our anniversaries.

Anniversary Inn South Temple The massage oil I’d ordered for our stay wasn’t included in our package, even though I’d ordered it when I booked the room. There was no record of it even being ordered. The fireplace in our room didn’t work, and that was the entire reason we’d picked that specific room. We got charged for extra breakfast items both mornings, but never received the extra bacon we’d ordered. That happened two days in a row. Breakfast came 40 minutes early the first day. Luckily I heard the knock so that our food wasn’t sitting out in the hall for 40 minutes. Both mornings our food trays didn’t have covers, so the food was exposed to air/germs and didn’t have a cover to keep the food warm. Housekeeping unlocked and entered our room without knocking, despite the “privacy please” sign on our door. We asked for extra blankets as the room was cold and the two thin blankets on the bed weren’t enough, but the girl at the front desk was unable to locate extra blankets. We did get a $40 credit for the lack of a working fireplace, we got our $6 credited back to us for the lack of extra breakfast items that we’d ordered, and the manager agreed to let us check out a day early since the non-working fireplace was the entire reason we’d booked the room, but we decided to just stay the second night instead of checking out early. I appreciate that efforts were made to help rectify the situation. We will not ever stay here again. The hotel needs to be updated, the tub looks old and dirty, the “electrical issues” with the non-working fireplace should either be addressed or have the room heavily discounted. The girl at the desk said that their computer system had changed from the time of our booking to our stay so that the massage oil I’d ordered didn’t show up on our booking. This was a very disappointing and expensive stay. Our room was not worth the $300 night and we won’t be booking here again. I cannot recommend this hotel at all.

Booked a room for our anniversary. 5th south location was blacked out so I booked a room at south Temple. Four days before our anniversary I received an email from them telling me my reservation was cancelled. When I called them I was told that there wasn't enough reservations at the South Temple location so they cancelled all the reservations. Unfortunately, there were no availability at 5th South since it was blacked out and so there was nothing they could do. I would have loved to have gone there as planned.However, keep in mind that they may cancel your reservation at the last moment and leave you scrambling for somewhere to go.

We have been married for a long time and came here because we had done Anniversary Inn for our 1st anniversary and thought it would be fun to revisit. I love that the South Temple location is a historic mansion in the avenues. Our room was in the basement, so it was a little noisy with the old creaky floors overhead, but overall, it was cute and a fun theme. The waterfall shower in our room was really cool, we stayed in the Mississippi Serenade. Breakfast was delicious, the ham and cheese croissant and the raspberry cream cheese pastry did not disappoint! The staff was very helpful, I can't remember his name because he gave us two. One of we were pleased and a different one if we weren't. Ha!

Stayed here 6/9/23 - 6/10/23. The room was charming, the items I had ordered ahead of time were in place but it was HOT! When we arrived the AC was set to heat. The front desk was notified and they came down to correct it. We were told it would cool down in about 30 mins. I suspect they were running it on heat to thaw out a frozen condenser so it was likely a problem they knew about. Rather than remedy the issue or try to be accommodating (a fan would have been nice) they let us stay in an almost 80*F room all night….not exactly what I had in mind to celebrate a 15 year anniversary. This made for a pretty underwhelming experience. Doubt I’ll be back.
